The demonstration, held under the shadow of Marianne and the statue of liberty, was both symbolic and deeply political \u2014 a transatlantic cry against authoritarianism, injustice and far-right populism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The protesters, many dressed in red, white and blue, held up placards reading&nbsp;<em>\u201cNo Kings\u201d<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>\u201cFree Palestine\u201d<\/em>, and&nbsp;<em>\u201cMAGA, You\u2019re Misled\u201d<\/em>, comparing Trump to a monarch and linking his policies to broader global struggles. A theatrical reconstruction of the Statue of Liberty, featuring a raised fist and a masked face, stood at the center of the protest. Many demonstrators called for solidarity with immigrant communities targeted by ICE and warned against the creeping normalization of fascist rhetoric in both the U.S. and abroad. \u201cIf there\u2019s money for a parade, there\u2019s money for Medicaid,\u201d one protester\u2019s sign read, criticizing Trump&#8217;s spending priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The rally took place peacefully, but the atmosphere was charged with a mix of frustration, satire and hope.
