Paris, 25 June, 2025 (OLA NEWS) – A rally took place this Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Place Saint-Augustin, Paris, at the call of La France Insoumise (LFI), to demand an immediate ceasefire between Iran and Israel. The aim of the demonstration was to show support for the civilian populations affected by the conflict for the past twelve days and to call for an end to hostilities in the region.
Several groups, including the France Palestine Solidarity Association (AFPS) and the CGT union of Paris-Gare de Lyon railway workers, joined the call to action to “make the voice of peace and humanism heard in our country.” Numerous “Boycott Israel” signs were raised in the 8th arrondissement, condemning the attacks carried out by Benjamin Netanyahu’s government, particularly in the Gaza Strip.

Protesters also called for sanctions against Israel, urging France to end all financial support for the country, which they consider backing a “genocidal regime.” Former leader of the LFI parliamentary group Jean-Luc Mélenchon was present and once again expressed his opposition to Israeli policy. In the crowd, several Iranian and Palestinian flags were waved.
The rally took place in a relatively calm atmosphere, following the announcement of a temporary ceasefire negotiated overnight from Monday to Tuesday. Although several violations of the agreement were reported in the morning, the situation appeared to have stabilized by the afternoon. This Wednesday, the Iran-Israel conflict will once again be in the spotlight, with a session scheduled at the National Assembly in the presence of Prime Minister François Bayrou
